Trauma Counselling and debriefing

Trauma Counselling and debriefing can be arranged and made available to individuals, families, staff teams and organisations. This is often arranged a few days after a particular incident has occurred as individual reactions and adaptation to traumatic events vary. It is important not to pathologize what are, in effect, normal reactions to abnormal events, counselling and debriefing sessions will allow a safe space to explore these reactions.

Some individuals are more affected than others and may need further support, they may need a referral for specific trauma focused work to reduce their symptoms or they may have experienced previous traumas which re surface in the face of the current event, in this instance supportive or more in depth psychotherapy may be indicated.
