The Initial Consultation
An Initial Consultation usually lasts between one and one and a half hours, and sometimes we might decide to meet for a second session before we agree on a way forward.
The aim of this first meeting is to allow both of us an opportunity to:
- Explore the difficulties which have led you to consider engaging in psychotherapy in more depth
- Think about what type of psychotherapy (if any) might be helpful
- Consider whether group or individual psychotherapy would best fit your needs
- And perhaps most importantly of all, see how we feel in each other’s company and consider whether we might be able to successfully work together
By attending an Initial Consultation, you are under no obligation to subsequently proceed with any kind of ongoing therapy.
