Hello and welcome to my website.

If you are visiting my site it might be that you are considering embarking on psychotherapy or you may be interested in some of the other services that I offer. These are founded in Psychodynamic and Group Analytic theory and are aimed towards facilitating personal growth and change.

I currently offer:

  • Initial Consultation
  • Group Analytic Psychotherapy
  • Individual Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
  • The opportunity to work on a short term and/or longer term basis
  • Trauma counselling and Debriefing
  • Clinical supervision – individual and group
  • Consultation to organisations and staff teams – team development
  • Staff support and process groups
  • Training – short courses, study days, seminars
If, having looked at the services I provide, you think I might be able to help you and are interested in discussing the matter further, you are very welcome to email or phone me to discuss your needs. I will gladly attempt to answer any questions you might have and, with regard to psychotherapy, we might then decide to meet face-to-face for an Initial Consultation.

Initial Consultation An Initial Consultation usually lasts between one and one and a half hours, and sometimes we might decide to meet for a second session before we agree on a way forward. More....

Group PsychotherapyGroup Analytic Psychotherapy is a particular type of psychodynamic therapy initiated by Dr SH Foulkes in the 1940’s and developed by the Institute of Group Analysis. It is based on the view that that deep and lasting change can occur within a carefully constituted group whose combined membership reflects wider society. More....

Individual PsychotherapyIndividual Psychodynamic Psychotherapy involves meeting regularly with a therapist to try and make sense of current psychological or relationship difficulties, with the view that understanding is a precursor to change and growth. We will explore current problems in relation to past events and possible traumas that may have had an impact on the way you are today. More....

Clinical SupervisionClinical supervision is considered good practice and a necessary requirement for anyone with clinical contact in the talking therapies and caring professions. It is useful to be able to think and reflect on our work with others, develop our skills and knowledge base, address vicarious traumatisation and ensure our own mental hygiene. More....

Trauma Counselling/ DebriefingTrauma Counselling and debriefing can be arranged and made available to individuals, families, staff teams and organisations. This is often arranged a few days after a particular incident has occurred as individual reactions and adaptation to traumatic events vary. It is important not to pathologize what are normal reactions to abnormal events, counselling and debriefing sessions will allow a safe space to explore these reactions. More....

Staff SupportThese are offered to a wide range of staff groups with varying degrees of expertise and responsibility. I have experience of running staff support groups for NHS Day Hospital and inpatient unit staff, Prison Officers, Psychologists, Drug and Alcohol workers, Counsellors and Trauma Workers. More....

Consultation/TrainingTraining – short courses, study days, seminars. These can be provided on request. I have a background in Mental Health Nurse Education as well as experience as a Group Psychotherapist in a Forensic Therapeutic Community. I have a particular interest in working with unbearable distress and all it’s manifestations that arise as a result of trauma, abuse or neglect. More....
