Clinical Supervision
Clinical supervision is considered good practice and a necessary requirement for anyone with clinical contact in the talking therapies and caring professions. It is useful to be able to think and reflect on our work with others, develop our skills and knowledge base, address vicarious traumatisation and ensure our own mental hygiene.
Qualified psychotherapists and counsellors are required to have regular clinical supervision as part of their continuous professional development to meet their registration requirements.
Clinical supervision is especially useful when facing an unusual difficulty or ethical issue and is essential for therapists working alone.
Clinical supervision is offered both on an individual or group basis covering a range of models of therapy and client groups including drugs and alcohol, personality disorders, forensic, victims of trauma and the mentally ill.
Although I am based in Lochaber, I am willing to work flexibly with a mixture of face to face and Skype meetings.
